Basta che selezioni la tua velocità (4000) sulla barra in alto e clicchi su "optimal settings" e "apply settings".Ti imposta automaticamente MTU=1500,che va bene nel tuo caso dato che mi pare Tiscali usi solo il PPPoA,e RWIN=256960.
ho fatto come dici ma dopo aver messo MTU 1500 il test di speedguide mi da questo risultato

Cmq fai delle prove per vedere con quale MTU hai i risultati migliori:test di McLink (così controlli anche l'upload) e download di un grosso file dal solito http://debian.fastweb.it/debian-cd/3.1_r2/i386/iso-cd/

credo che sulla rete Tiscali MTU venga limitato a 1470,ho visto altri utenti Tiscali anche su questo forum che non riescono a schiodarsi da quel valore.Cmq per scrupolo su TCP Optimizer prova a fare il test "largest MTU",alla fine ti dice la massima grandezza del pacchetto che non ha subito frammentazione,quello è l'MTU che puoi inserire.Originariamente inviato da dottor nick
