velocità diverse con computer diversi

con il portatile ((pentium4 2,4 GHz)XP) riesco ad ottenere valori dal test di tin.it in down di 1303 Kbits/sec (valori che praticamente nei vari momenti restano costanti).Con il test di Mclink 1187 in down 300 in up.(MTU 1492 RWIN 17424)
Fin qui tutto bene.
Poi provo i test con il computer fisso ((pentium3 500 MHz)win98) ed ottengo valori decisamente inferiori 1000 Kbits con tin.it (prove eseguite in diversi momenti).Con Mclink 980 in down 300 in up.
Ho provato a settare diversamente sia la MTU che la RWIN secondo una tabella per win 95-98 fornitami qualche tempo fa dall' assistenza tecnica:

Ma non ho ottenuto apprezzabili miglioramenti.
I valori della tabella mi erano stati molto utili per ottenere risultati praticamente simili al momento della fornitura del servizio
(allora era una 640 e con il test di tin.it ottenevo valori intorno ai 720 Kbit/sec)
Forse per la mega la tabella non è adatta????

allora:
intanto rwin deve essere mss moltiplicato per 44 quindi 17424 per una tin.it mega è pochissimo (è un valore per una 256k)

il secondo pc deve essere settato alla stessa maniera, ma ricorda che è un pc vetusto e magari stracarico e non ottimizzato e che per questo potrebbe rallentarti la connessione.

la tabella non la capisco molto, comunque se hai max mtu a 1492, questo è e non lo devi variare.

la tabella mi è stata fornita allegata ad un programma TCPOptimizer per variare MTU e RWIN.Ripeto che impostando sul vecchio computer MTU 1500 Rwin 23360 ottenevo con la 640 praticamente gli stessi risultati del pc xp.

ho settato mtu 1492 rwin 63888 come mi hai consigliato.
I test effettuati confermano praticamente gli stessi valori:
tin.it 1302 Kbit/sec
Maclink 1173 in down 300 in up

sul p3 facci anche un pò di manutenzione ed elimina eventuali programmi che potrebbero consumarti in background la banda...
