    Xlib

    Dove si trovano le Xlib o qualche file di configurazione?
    Come posso risolvere questo errore:

    Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".

    guarda se in /etc/X11/XFConfig non hai
    # Section "DRI"
    # Mode 0666
    # EndSection
    fatto così, nel caso decommenta queste righe

    Le Xlib non sono altro che le librerie di X (o di un qualunque altro server X)...
    Quell'errore comunque c'entra poco: riguarda soprattutto il direct rendering...
    Prova a postare il contenuto del tuo /etc/X11/XF86Config, /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, dicci che scheda video hai, e se hai attivato o meno il direct rendering (l'accelerazione hardware) e se sì con quali driver

    Sono decommentate...ma ho 2 sezioni così:

    Il direct rendering è quello che sto disperatamente cercando di attivare da più di 2 settimane senza risultati
    Cmq ho una scheda video Ati Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb, ma ho uno slot agp a 4x (non credo che dovrebbe presentare problemi cmq)

    sembra ke la tua skeda video non sia completamente supportata!...cmq se può esserti d'aiuto c'è questo post ...a volte basterebbe una semplice ricerca!

    Li so a memoria i post del forum che hanno a che fare con ati, radeon direct rendering e via dicendo, sono 2 sett. che cerco info sul forum su come installare sto ***** di direct rendering nei post tutti risolvono i loro problemi e attivano sta benedetta accelerazione 3d...io non riesco a capire cosa cavolo sbaglio...non mi si attiva eppure le ho provate tutte!

    Vorrei semplicemente avere l'accelerazione 3d cioè il DRI (giusto?) i driver ati non centrano nulla?

    o usi i driver o il DRI del kernel.
    riassiumiamo un po, prego postare
    -lsmod fatto da root
    -dmesg
    -che kernel hai
    -come è settato come modulo o statico, tutto quel che riguarda agp e drm
    basta, credo
