[Debian etch ] VNC: Applicazioni KDE una vita a partire

Ho un server remoto con Debian etch dove accedo tramite VNC.
La gran parte delle applicazioni KDE ci mettono **10 minuti** a partire (e idem per KDE stesso).. non è un problema di velocità.. è un super server con 2 GB di RAM e una volta partite funzionano correttamente... sembra più una questione di timeout.. ma di che cosa ?????
Gnome e le sue applicazioni funzionano alla grande... ma mi serve KDevelop & Konqueror :-((

Lo spash screen di kde si pianta su "Inizializzazione servizi di sistema"...
