XML Parser con Safemode

Devo leggere un URL esterno al mio sito, un file XML. Ma lo script che mi sono procurato legge il file con i socket e non me lo permette poiché sono in safemode. Esiste un modo per consentire la lettura di questo file anche con safemode? Vi allego la classe:
