[XHTML] Immagine mappa corretta

Ho un'immagine utilizzata come mappa per le descrizioni delle diverse zone illustrate. Vi indico il codice.

Vi spiego il problema: Così com'è il validatore mi dice.

How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, 
(Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both 
allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this 
attribute.

ma se tolgo il "#" non funziona più e lo stesso dicasi per l'ancora di arrivo. Se tolgo il "name" (che dovrebbe essere sostituito da "id") funziona su IE ma non più su FF.

Che faccio?

PS il DOCTYPE è XHTML 1.1
