[MySql] Problema con configurazione php

Ho installato Mysql 5.0.27 -win32.zip come da istruzioni del TIPS & TRICKS di Piero.mac, però quando cerco di collegarmi tramite phpmyadmin ottengo questo errore

Impossibile caricare l'estensione mysql,
prego controllare la configurazione di PHP - Documentazione

nel C:\Programmi\php\php.ini mi sembra tutto a posto
