Ciao, ho installato Toad (12.9.071 e l'Oracle Client 11g.

Domanda 1: Perche' non trovo in locale la cartella C:\oracle\product\12.9 etc...Dove dovrebbe essere il file Tsnames.ora ?


Inoltre, domanda 2:
Quando provo a connettermi ad un server (verso cui sono abilitato):

ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred

ORACLE_HOME environment variable is defined as "c:\oracle"
"c:\oracle" does not exist
The sqlnet.ora file could not be located


Steps to Take
Verify that the tnsnames.ora file exists. This file should be in the Network\Admin subfolder of your Oracle home. Alternatively you can create a TNS_ADMIN environment variable that points to a folder containing the tnsnames.ora file. If using an Oracle instant client the TNS_ADMIN environment variable is required.


Try to ping XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX using the Ping button on the toolbar
Try to TNSPing (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=E FILA))) using the TNS Ping button on the toolbar
(non ho mai usato ne' Oracle Server, ne' Toad, sono sempre stato Microsoft-Oriented)
