aggiungere € a valore text

come posso fare per aggiungere il simbolo dell'euro
all'assegnazione di un valore a un campo testo:
ES.:
document.getElementById('SP').value='<?=number_for mat($sommaPremiV,2,',','.')?>&euro;';

Ho provato con
document.getElementById('SP').innerHtml='<?=number _format($sommaPremiV,2,',','.')?>&euro';
ma non funziona.

Qualche idea??
