[php] come ricevere una stringa tramite POST

Salve a tutti,
ho un problema: faccio una richiesta Ajax con POST dove invio una stringa ( un file xml ) a un file php che non mi deve restituire nulla.
Come faccio a ricevere la stringa inviata dal file PHP???
Cioè: cosa devo scrivere dentro il file php ????

Infatti PHP ha un forum dedicato.

Inoltre c'è un regolamento interno che indica chiaramente l'importanza di dare un titolo significativo alle discussione... tu, addirittura, non hai dato alcun titolo.

Scusate per l'errore ma avevo qualche dubbio perchè in realtà si tratta di javascript-Ajax e PHP...
