Non modifica l'MTU.
Se apri con un qualunque editor il file sguide_tweak_2k.reg vedrai che modifica alcuni parametri (ad esempio RWIN=256960) ma non l'MTU.

Le ho provate tutte, ma quando 2000 o XP non vogliono portare lMTU a 1500 non li schiodi neanche a martellate.

Sicuramente avrai disabilitato il path mtu discovery!!

Path Mtu discovery = OFF
Non è ben chiaro (oppure è ben nascosto) dove trovarlo nel registro.

Mentre ho trovato un problema segnalato da Microsoft per il PPPoE, non si parla assolutamente di PPPoA.

Non ho win2000 però su http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_mode...eg_win2k.shtml ho trovato questo che sicuramente avrai già visto:

When set to 1 (True), TCP attempts to discover MTU automatically over the path to a remote host. Setting this parameter to 0 causes MTU to default to 576 which reduces overall performance over high speed connections. Note that this setting is different than our Windows 9x recommendation.

EnablePMTUDiscovery="1" (DWORD - boolean, valid settings are 0-->False and 1-->True. When set at 1, establishing connections and initial transfer speed might slow down a bit, however you will get better throughput if somewhere in the path large packets need to be fragmented.

Infatti ho provato a settare Path Mtu discovery = OFF (oppure 0) ma non è cambiato nulla.
Prima o poi qualcuno riuscirà a scoprire perchè.

Ho riprovato:velocità media 266 Kb/sec,ma ping molto variabile un minuto 208,ora 58!Che faccio?Tengo rwin a 23360 o riporto a 32120?

Credo che queste variazioni non dipendano dai settaggi ma da Tiscali.
Per ora non cambiare Rwin.
Tienila sotto controllo e spera che non peggiori.
