ARTICOLO: come settare l'adsl al meglio

nessun suggermento? leggendo ulteriormente tra le pagine ho visto che l'impossibilita' di variare l' MTU puo' dipendere dall'aver usato la connessione guidata della rete via windows (cosa che ho effettivamente fatto): quindi per ovviare al problema dovrei ricreare la connessione manulmente,oppure esiste un modo per aggirare questo "problema"?

Questo è il test con speedguide, e i nuovi settaggi che ho impostato seguendo la guida...sono su una adsl tiscali flat 4832/320 wholesale, sistema operativo winxp sp2 + router netgear dg834g....avete consigli?

posto anche i valori di rumore/attenuazione della linea

Velocità di connessione 4832 kbps 320 kbps

Imo il miglior software "ottimizzatore" gratuito è TCP Optimizer,tra l'altro costantemente aggiornato.Dr. TCP non lo aggiornano da due anni,Cablenut mi pare che sia addirittura fermo al 2001!... VVoVe:

non hanno fatto versioni nuove, ma il software non ha bachi, i settaggi sono giusti e il forum è abbastanza attivo e hanno una sfilza di css pronti per l'uso e per tutti i gusti, certo comunque anche tcp optimizer non è male. Io uso anche software del 1995 se è per questo...basta che vanno..

i parametri principali da cambiare sono sempre quelli e quindi non serve aggiornare i programmi...

quando uscirà il nuovo windows vista, allora forse....

Beh,nell'ultima versione di TCPO hanno aggiunto ottimizzazioni come quella della cache dei DNS,le max connessioni per server di IE e diversi altri miglioramenti.Anche come interfaccia TCPO adesso è utilizzabile anche da chi ha scarse conoscenze sull'argomento,gli altri due sono decisamente più ostici...

Ho utilizzato il TCPOptimizer, settando i valori con il comando OPTIMAL SETTING. Inoltre, come faccio per l'altro test di Virgilio, mi chiede la specifica connessione a Tin che, ovviamente, non ho.
Ultima cosa: i miei ultimi settaggi mi hanno portato a questa configurazione:
