ARTICOLO: come settare l'adsl al meglio

scusate mi potreste dare una mano a ottimizzare la mia linea adsl tiscali a 6 mega perche cosi com'e con il nuovo router che devo mettere un usr 9105 non riesco a navigare in tutte le pagine e mi hanno detto che per risolvere devo ottimizzare mtu e rwin.

intanto vi posto i risulati del test di speed guide:

TCP options string = 0204059601010402
MTU = 1470

MSS = 1430

poi non riesco a capire se considerarmi pppoa oppure pppoe perche il mio isp ha come incapsulazione il protocollo pppoa vc-mux pero io sono connesso tramite router ethernet.

riguardo poi alla rilevazione dell'mtu ho fatto in questo modo pero bo mi pare strano il risultato.
praticamente ho fatto:
ping -f -l 1500 maya.ngi.it
partendo da 1500 e poi scalando di 10 in dieci per trovare l'mtu ed ho ottenuto questo:
1500---E' necessario frammentare il pacchetto ma il DF è attivo
1490---E' necessario frammentare il pacchetto ma il DF è attivo
1480---E' necessario frammentare il pacchetto ma il DF è attivo
1470---richiesta scaduta
1460---pinga.

non so penso di avere la linea abbastanza incasinata potreste aiutarmi a risolvere questa siituazione?

Sei in PPPoA.Dovresti mettere MTU=1500,però pare che le Tiscali in SA vadano settate a 1492 anche in PPPoA.Riguardo alla rilevazione di MTU hai provato ad utilizzare TCP Optimizer? Alla scheda "largest MTU" ti trova automaticamente l'MTU più corretto.
Riguardo ad RWIN io proverei (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4),alcuni usano anche (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 6).
Ti consiglio anche di dare un'occhiata qui: http://www.hwupgrade.it/forum/showth...6&page=1&pp=20 ci sono molti utenti della 6 mega che potranno consigliarti al meglio.

ora ho provato a usare tcp optimyzer pero intanto mi segnala come pppoe perche rileva la scheda ethernet e poi anche se faccio il ping col primo ip che trovo facendo un tracert mi da:

secondo te che puo significare?

poi ho notato che sul router cio impostato mtu a 1492 e mss a 1432 che dovrebbe essere cmq sbagliato mi pare che debba essere mtu - 40.

ma secondo te posso andare per tentativi e inserire in dr tcp mtu a 1492 mettere sul router 1492 e 1452 e poi rifare i test oppure rischio di fare qualche casino?
e se posso in che modo dovrei compilare le altre sezioni di dr tcp?
posso lasciare tutto cosi com'e e salvare e se non va tornare indietro?

che cosa ne pensi?

Dice che non può rilevare il massimo MTU perchè perde pacchetti.Sinceramente non ti so dire perchè,a me funziona con qualunque indirizzo,magari prova a cambiare URL...

Si lo puoi fare tranquillamente,non rischi niente.Anzi secondo me tentare varie configurazioni è il modo migliore per trovare quella più giusta per la propria connessione.Sapessi quanto ho smanettato io... :maLOL:
Per Dr.TCP c'è la guida all'inizio di questo topic,cmq io uso TCP Optimizer,mi piace di più ed è più pratico.
