Nel pannello di controllo del modem/router, ma non è detto che tu lo possa vedere...non tutti i modem/router sono abilitati.
In ogni caso i valori salienti sono due: il margine di rumore o SNR e l'attenuazione; entrambe si misurano in dB.

Ciao a tutti, mi presento mi chiamo Mauro e ho una connessione adsl 2 mega pppoe. Se volesso non utilizzare il pppoe cosa dovrei fare? Il mio modem lo posso anche attaccare tramite usb senza andare tramite scheda di rete. Cosa mi consigliate?. Ho visto il progr. drtcp e ho fatto alcune modifiche ma non so se vanno bene. speedguide mi da´questo risultato. Sono ok i miei settaggi?..grazie a tutti.

Date le altalenanti prestazioni della mia adsl Libero 4Mb.(eccome! ) vorrei provare a fare questa configurazione.

Questo perchè ho notato notevoli differenze di funzionamento tra il router(Belkin F5D7632) e il modem USB (TELECOM FastRate USB).
Se ho capito bene, le configurazioni di questo post, servono ad ottimizzare il funzionamento dell'hardware di rete..
Quindi magari proprio il problema che rilevo col router.

Infatti noto un decremento notevole (direi 50/60%) di prestazioni utilizzando il router, mentre col modem la situazione migliora notevolmente.. Anche se le prestazioni non sono proprio di una 4Mb..

Inoltre.. Al momento dell'attivazione del mio contratto, alla domanda: Come collega il pc ad internet?? Ethernet.. Quindi presuppongo che mi abbiano attivato una PPPoE..

I miei dubbi sono:
1)Il tipo di protocollo di connessione influisce sulla configurazione??
2)Per una 4Mb, come dovrei calcolare il valore di MTU ed RWIN??

RWIN va bene per una 2 Mbps. MTU dovresti portarlo a 1492 installando rasPPPoE oppure a 1500 se passi a PPPoA. Per passare a PPPoA puoi vedere se è possibile impostandolo dal pannello del modem/router, altrimenti è possibile ma non sicuro che collegandoti via USB sia impostato automaticamente in PPPoA.

Non è assolutamente detto che tu sia collegato in PPPoE anche se hai detto di collegarti via ethernet (sono 2 cose distinte).
Questi valori non cambiano le prestazioni dell'hardware ma del sistema operativo in funzione dell'hardware.
In ogni caso il protocollo di connessione influisce leggermente sulla configurazione: ad esempio MTU massimo per PPPoA è di 1500 mentre per PPPoE è di 1492.
Per una 4 Mbps se sei collegato in PPPoE metti MTU a 1492 e RWIN a 255552; se sei collegato in PPPoA metti MTU a 1500 e RWIN a 256960.

Ciao ragazzi, ho un dubbio e chiedo il vostro aiuto perchè a giorni avrò una 2048/512. Quali valori devo assegnare in RWIN ed MTU per ottimizzarla? Ho tutti i programmini per modificare, l'ho già fatto con questa 4mbit (MTU 1500 RWIN 256960) che è agli ultimi sgoccioli di vita.
