Data rate
Current terrestrial radio transmission technologies for UMTS, propose data rates up to 2 Mbit/s in both directions.
Actually, the data rate depends on the mobility condition. This figure corresponds to a static or low mobility condition
of the terminal with respect to the base station. It refers also to a condition of short distance to the base station. This
corresponds typically to indoor and low range outdoor environment. Data rates as high as 384 kbit/s will be supported
in outdoor environments. UMTS further distinguishes between urban/suburban outdoor and rural outdoor environments
with achievable data rates of 384 kbit/s and 144 kbit/s respectively. For satellite, the need for high data rate depends
firstly on the services to be offered and also on the user mobility condition regarding the base station. The lower the
mobility, the higher the data rate is desirable.

mi sa che non ci siamo proprio capiti e che abbiamo sempre detto la stessa cosa.

non ho detto che l'umts è uguale al wifi, ho detto semplicemente che l'uso massimo della banda (2mbit sincroni) può essere solo fatto al coperto in condizioni statiche e che probabilmente verrà utilizzato per postazioni fisse, una sorta di utilizzo alla wifi.

riguardo alla banda max per i celluari come ho detto e come hai postato tu è di 384kbit, che però scendono in condizioni di uso in movimento e in condizioni di segnale sporco.

poi io avevo aggiunto che (fonti telefonino.net e soci) che l'offerta della banda verrà commercializzata quanto segue:
384/128
128/64
64/64
per commercializzata intendo che al momento della scelta del profilo umts, dovrai scegliere quanta banda avere a disposizione, e a seconda del taglio scelto pagerai di più o meno.

Le offerte commerciali non le conosco, probabilmente sono quelle che dici tu. Io mi riferivo alla potenzialità, che probabilmente non verrà sfruttata, dell'UMTS di avere 2Mb simmetrici in ambiente picocella (praticamente da quasi fermo).

comunque da quello che so saranno particolarmente scovegnenti, sopratutto se si punterà ad avere il massimo di banda disponibile...
