    sara' la birra. la stanchezza o e' veramente cosi ma dal tuo lsmod non vedo il modulo
    radeon ( se usi il DRI )
    o il modulo
    fglrx ( se usi i driver ati )
    prova un
    #modprobe radeon
    e fai ripartire X ( ctrl+alt+delete )

    per il resto guarda in /usr/src/linux-2.6.3-eccetera, c'è un file nascosto che si chiama .config, copia ed incolla la sezione character device, è abbastanza in fondo

    radeon ( se usi il DRI )
    o il modulo
    fglrx ( se usi i driver ati )
    prova un
    #modprobe radeon
    e fai ripartire X ( ctrl+alt+delete )
    no no, manca proprio, in teoria ci dovrebbe essere il drm inserito nel kernel, se è cosi la soluzione di hamish dovrebbe risolvere

    Ho provato a fare modprobe radeon e modprobe fglrx e riavviare X, mi carica i moduli ma non li usa:

    fglrx 161365 0
    radeon 127008 0

    adesso cerco sto file .config del kernel e lo posto.
