Mi aiutate a configurare la connessione ADSL?

Ricapitolando, prima di fare porcate, se non ho sbagliato niente dovrei impostare così:
MTU=1492
MSS=1452
RWIN=1452*22=31944

Giusto?

Allora con Dr.TCP ho impostato:
MTU=1492
MSS=1452
RWIN=31944

e questi sono i risultati:

Come mai mi indica ancora MTU=1440 (non pienamente ottimizzato) e MSS=1400...?
Io avevo impostato esattamente MTU=1492 e MSS=1452..... naturalmente avevo poi riavviato il PC.

Ho appurato che il mio router non supporta il PPPoA, ma solo il PPPoE. Non rieco però a capire perchè settando con Dr.TCP il valore di MTU a 1492, poi mi ritrovo in realtà un valore effettivo di 1440. Forse ho trovato però la ragione in questa faq:

In pratica sembra che il protocollo PPPoE di WinXP, non sia in grado di gestire un MTU=1492. Non so però se fidarmi ad installare questo fantomatico RASPPPoE. Voi cosa mi consigliate? Avete altre soluzioni?

Col RASPPPoE dovrebbe migliorare il ping di 3-4 ms!! Prova!!

Ma tu riesci a capire perchè anche se imposto i paramentri giusti poi non riesco ad avere un MTU effettivo superiore a 1440? Sul router posso sciegliere vari protocolli tra cui il PPPoE, ma non impostare un MTU come suggeriva il "Maestro".

Riesci a settarlo almeno a 1480??

cmq il tuo routerino va pure in PPPoA!
