Il favicon si inserisce nell'html con una riga (nell'head) come questa:

<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="nomeMiaIcona.ico">

Se usi un forum in php (tipo phpbb) dovresti avere dei template (in phpbb è overall_header.tpl) dove puoi inserire la riga.
