apt-get install kde
Xorg -configure

ho copiato xorg.conf.new in /etc/X11

poi startkde

e ricevo

kwin : cannoct connect to X server
kpersonalizer : cannot connect to X server

se do startx

Fatal error:
no screens found

che devo fa???

Nel file XOrg.log trovi qualcosa con le EE? Hai installato i drivers Ati?
Hai installato il pacchetto libgl1-mesa-dri?
Font base ne hai?

sinceramente non ho installato nulla per ati perchè con distribuzioni come slackware il kde mi partiva al volo, penso che i driver siano già da qualche parte

Ti consiglio di scaricarli dal sito dell'Ati direttamente.

non riesco a leggere il tuo xorg.conf puoi postarlo in verticale anzichè orrizontale?

non ti preoccupare ho risolto senza kde prima che buttassi via il monitor

o x funziona con tutti i de/wm o con nessuno!!!
