Premetto che sono digiuno di PHP, ma mi è stato chiesto di installare per una associazione no-profit un programma News con un accesso con password. Esiste uno spazio con questo preistallato sul server?
Altrimenti avevo pensato a questo:

Thank you for downloading Crystal News Editor. Installation is
simple. All you need to do is edit the "config.php" file and set
your password along with the other settings. You can leave the
pre-installed settings alone and use the test password but it is
recommended that you change the password for your own secruity.
Next upload the directory "crystaleditor" and its contents. Once
the files are uploaded CHMOD "news.txt" to 777. Once you have done
that the program is ready to run. All you have to do is have a ssi
include or php include pointing to the "news.txt" file. For example
in the place you want the news to go you would use the line of code
<?php include("./crystaleditor/news.txt"); ?> to insert the news
onto your website. As always please email me if you have any
questions involving the script or if you would just like to say hello.
If you notify me that your website is using my scripts I will add a
link to your site from mine. Once again thank you for using my script.

quale server? bisogna vedere in quale spazio hanno il sito. da quello che capisco cmq quello che hai scaricato è uno script php per news che usa come database un file di testo.

Il server avevamo pensato che fosse Linux dedicato su uno dei maggiori provider...., ma nel pannello di controllo non ho trovato uno di news

qualsiasi aiuto è sollievo.

e hai provato a scrivere le news? cosa succede? non mettere la password nel codice però, cioè qui nel forum intendo

Non ho ancora provato perchè non si è ancora deciso cosa prendere. Quando devi mettere tante teste insieme è difficile. La password la cambio chiaro, ma ad esmpio i permessi sulla cartella principale mi lasciano perplesso. non posso mi camettere tutto a 777, ti pare?

Infatti ti dice di mettere 777 solo al file txt, non a tutto.

Once the files are uploaded CHMOD "news.txt" to 777.

cmq quello script non mi sembra un granché, non mette neanche type password nel campo Password: <input type="text" name="password">

Infatti, ma ribadisco che è un sito di volontariato, non ha dati sensibili, " Riunione il giorno tale", "assemblea soci direttivo tal' altro".
Glii altri CHMOD cosa sono? E per la cartella del programma?

come ha scritto Alhazred devi cambiare soltanto i permessi del file txt, tutti gli altri lasciali così. la cartella in che senso? rinominala news se ha un nome strano, cmq non è che serva molto rinominarla tanto alla fine mi sembra di capire che includi solo il file di testo, dove le news compaiono già con i tag html

Nivasio, mi pare di ricordare che bisognasse anche modificare i permessi alle cartelle se necessario, ma sono passati tanti anni... Comunque se CHMOD 775 va bene per tutto il resto a parte il file di testo. Dovremmo esserci...
