Passare il value della select ma anche il contenuto

Si, ho provato ad aggiungere
document.getElementById('formato').value= this.text;

e nell'input text mi compare la scritta undefined



edit: ok, ci sono riuscito in questo modo:

document.getElementById("formato").value = test.options[test.selectedIndex].text;

grazie per la dritta.
