I think .. with most of the ADSL contract u will be engaged for 1 year...
this is the problem
if u want a ADSL I suggest u to request it in advance because there are often delays on the activation!

the best ADSL... are TELECOM ITALIA (ALICE,TIN.IT)

or optical cable FASTWEB in Milan (not everywhere)
