quando provo a fare il boot non riconosce il cd inserito nel drive! ho provato di tutto
- a lasciarlo non montato
- a montarlo
- a cambiare drive di avvio dalle impostazioni (ne ho due)
- a modificare le impostazioni del bios
- a metterlo nel primo/secondo canale ide
il messaggio che mi dà di solito è
ma sembra quasi non leggere il cd, dato che non si sente il rumore del cd in movimento.codice:No bootable CD, floppy or hard disk was detected. To install an operating system, insert a bootable CD or floppy and restart the virtual machine by clicking the Reset button
Se dalle impostazioni abilito l'opzione "Legacy emulation", al boot legge il cdrom (lo si sente girare) e dopo qualche secondo esce con questo messaggio
Il fatto è che io ho il kernel 2.5.0-test9 e ho provato sui miei due lettori (un Pioneer dvd e un Plextor) e dà lo stesso errorecodice:VMware Workstation was unable to read from file "/dev/dvd". This problem can occur with certain CD-ROM drives on kernels 2.4.9 and 2.4.10. This problem was fixed in the Red Hat Linux kernel version 2.4.9-21 and later, and it is fixed in kernels 2.4.12 and later. To work around this problem, you should update your Linux kernel to 2.4.9-21 on Red Hat Linux hosts, or kernel 2.4.12 or later on any Linux hosts. If you cannot update the kernel, you can consider changing the CD-ROM drive."
