[ubuntu] Installare x.org

Vorrei installare x.org a posto di xfree, è possibile farlo attraverso apt-get? I driver della geforce poi sono gli stessi che vengono forniti dal sito nvidia??

Ma soprattutto, me lo consigliate o vale la pena aspettare che esca ubuntu con x.org gia installato. (mi sembra di aver letto che la prox uscità di ubuntu utilizzerà x.org)

e con il desktop 3d della sun, a che punto si è arrivati? c'è qualcuno che lo utilizza?

Ubuntu e' una Debian... e Debian non usa ancora Xorg e non lo ha in archivio...
ma potresti ricompilare i sorgenti... anche se non so' se e' sicuro... perche' i programmi sono stati scritti per XFree...
anche se Xorg mantiene le vecchie funzioni di XFree....

Ti conviene aspettare la hoary un po' + stabile, in molti hanno avuto problemi..

io l'ho messo mettendo i server della hoary e togliendo gli altri

cìè da smanettare un po perche va rimosso xfree completamente che ti rimuove quasi tutto poi lo devi reinstallare


cosi aggiorni tutto alla hoary corrente e va benissimo

l'ho appena provata ma ho già trovato un paio di errori che non me l'hanno fatta avviare:
-non mi riconosce la scheda di rete
-si blocca a meta della fase di installazione
