    [Mysql]and[phpmyadmin] problemi installazione

    Mi sono incasinato
ho voluto installare una nuova versione di mysql
    piu' precisamente:
    Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.12a for win32 (ia32)

E credo l'installazione sia andata a buon fine,
in quanto questi dati li ho presi dal
    Mysql command line

    Poi ho installato
    phpMyAdmin 2.6.3-pl1
E qui sono iniziati i problemi
in teoria (dico teoria perche' l'unica cosa che mysql mi ha chiesto e' stata la password, e non l'username)

dovrei avre come username root e password onny77

    sono andato nel config.inc.php
    di phpmyadmin

    e l'ho modificato cosi'(e' solo una parte):

    * Complete the variable below with the full url ie
    * http://www.your_web.net/path_to_your...min_directory/

    * It must contain characters that are valid for a URL, and the path is
    * case sensitive on some Web servers, for example Unix-based servers.
    *
    * In most cases you can leave this variable empty, as the correct value
    * will be detected automatically. However, we recommend that you do
    * test to see that the auto-detection code works in your system. A good
    * test is to browse a table, then edit a row and save it. There will be
    * an error message if phpMyAdmin cannot auto-detect the correct value.
    *
    * If the auto-detection code does work properly, you can set to TRUE the

Ora quando tento di aprire phpmyadmin
    mi scrive :
#1251 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

    che cavolo devo fare?
    ho guardato in php.ini (c:\windows\)
    e
    my.ini (C:\Programmi\mysql\MySQL Server 4.1)
Ma non trovo modifiche da fare che potrebbero essere utili

Ho anche provato a far partire
    mysqladmin.exe (C:\Programmi\mysql\MySQL Server 4.1\bin)

ma si apre e si richiude subito......

prima con la versione 3.26(credo) mi si apriva in automatico
e non mi dava nessun problema neanche phpmyadmin
