Vorrei cominciare a montare un bel serverino qui a casa perche vorrei cominciare a capire bene come montare e gestire un bel serverino casalingo pero nn ho idea di che tipo di server montare che gli posso far fare insomma...
che cosa posso montarmi per cominciare a fare qualcosa di utile e divertente su un p4 1900 512ram 80GBhdd??

Suggerimenti:
scegli i servizi che ti servono realmente per il server
ed installa la distribuzione che maneggi meglio.
Altra buona soluzione, è quella di installarci sopra una distro qualunque per poi mettere XEN, VMWare o Qemu per virtualizzare gli ambienti (e fare tutti gli esperimenti che ti passano per la testa).
