Il VMware Server non ha niente a che vedere con una macchina virtuale su cui far girare un altro O.S., ma permette invece di avere più servers su di un'unico PC.

Il VMware Server non ha niente a che vedere con una macchina virtuale su cui far girare un altro O.S.,

non sono per niente d'accordo.. ovviamente visto che la workstation la vendono tendono ad esaltare le differrenze ma sono al 99% uguali..

Io ce le ho entrambe e l'unica grande differenza che ho notato è che manca di default il sistema di comunicazione tra host e guests per quel che riguarda lo scambio dei files (e forse il supporto all'USB per le nuove virtual machine create con il server, ma non ne sono sicuro).

Per quel che riguarda il primo problema è facilmente raggirabile installando sull'host (se questo è Linux) samba..


At the end: ho Linux come host e, su VM server, Windows XP come VM.. e mi ci trovo benissimo ;-))
