[htaccess] problemi di configurazione

Buonasera!
Ho un problemino!

In pratica quando inserisco via ftp il file .htaccess il sito non viene piu' visualizzato ma dà errore.
L'hosting è quello dell'oggetto del messaggio... qualcosa ha idea o gli è già capitato??

Con solo due giorni di preavviso, il 19/7/2006 Register.it ha vietato l'uso dei file .htaccess, almeno per il hosting free e basic se non tutti. Alcuni funzioni del .htaccess rimangono disponibile, con funzionalità ridotta, da un pannello di controllo.

L'impatto è piuttosto forte.

Solo due dei esempi più eclatanti:

1) Non è più possible di passare traffic da un domino “parcheggiato” utilizzando un 301 redirect. Un po' strano per una società che fa registrazione dei domini il suo core business.

2) Tutti i siti sono etichettati con l'http header indicando che il contenuto è in lingua italiana. Peccato se il tuo sito è in inglese o altro....

Come motivazione per questa politica è stata semplicemente nominata “sicurezza”.

Un e-mail al supporto elencando i problemi innescata risultava in una gentile, ma non confortante, risposta:

Gentile cliente, sono purtroppo spiacente di informarla che, le direttive di cui lei necessità non sono effettivamente utilizzabili e gestibili all'interno del nostro contesto di Hosting....

anch'io ho lo stesso problema con .htaccess con register.it

ho acquistato un software (blogersystem 1.4) a 150$ e ora cosa devo fare!!?

per il ceretto funzionamento è obbligatori il file .htaccess

in'oltre ho acquistato Hosting Business Linux pensando che
non ci sarà nessun tipo di problema...

ma tu guarda

si può mandare una lettera di protesta oppure il rimborso del hosting?

PS: consigliatemi un hosting che suppoti .htaccess
