come faccio a sapere se una stringa è un numero o caratteri?

nel senso

Stringa1="CASA"

if Stringa1 as integer then
response.write "è un numero"
else
response.write "non è un numero"
end if

dato che con "as integer" non funziona, sapete dirmi se esiste una funzione che lo fa?
