La mia configurazione
PC fisso assemblato
AMD ATHLON 1 Ghz
512 Mb di RAM
HD 160 Gb
Scheda Video ATI radeon 9600 256 mb dedicata
UBUNTU 7.10
sono andato su questo sito
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
ho scelto
S.O ---- Linux x86
Scheda ----Radeon
Modello --- ATI RAdeon 9600 series
e cliccato su GO
Mi ha fatto scaricare questi driver
ati-driver-installer-8.42.3-x86.x86_64.run (48.1 MB)
dopodichè ho seguito questa guida

ho seguito tutto alla lettera ho provato e riprovato almeno 3 volte la procedura e riavviato 100 volte ma l'accelerazione grafica 3d è assente
Cercando ancora ho trovato questo

I passaggi sembrano uguali.. mi sono accorto che c'era qualcosa di differente
Purtroppo nessun risultato
Disinstallato per l'ennesima volta i driver
ho provato anche da terminale
sudo sh ./ati-driver-installer-8.42.3-x86.x86_64.run
cioè ho installato i driver con l'interfaccia grafica ufficiale ATI
Risultato?
Adesso ho Compiz-fusion perfettamente funzionante ma non il 3D
Digitando
glxinfo | grep rendering
viene fuori

Che cavolo vuol dire? (non sono un esperto)

Mi piacerebbe attivare l'accelerazione 3D anche per giocare online a OpenArena World of Pandman ecc..
Compiz-Fusion non è malaccio ma se bisogna sacrificarlo per avere il 3d dai giochi non mi metto a piangere
Se poi c'è la soluzione per farli andare tutte e due ben venga...
Qualche anima può aiutarmi???
P.S. ho sempre disinstallato i driver prima di reinstallarli adesso a furia di riavviare mi è venuto un bel mal di testa
