Ho installato in dual-boot kubuntu 7.10 sul mio ibm thinkpad T42 e meraviglia delle meraviglie winzozz non parte più. Vatti a fidare

aggiorna /boot/grub/menu.lst.

Salvo tu non abbia accettato brutalmente le opzioni di defaults nell' eseguire l'installazione non c'è altro motivo x cui winzok non riparta.
Posta qui il file e vediamo.
Prima di instalare SO documentarsi è la prima regola , volendo essere obbiettivi lo è e viene raccomandata dalla stessa Microsoft anche per windows.
I SO non sono giochini , richiedono la loro conoscenza , quanto più approfondita possibile.

no, non gli ho fatto piallare la partizione di win, parte con il loo di xp poi viene una schemata blu che dice che win non parte per questioni di sicurezza ma scompare subito prima che possa leggere il resto. ecco menu.lst

Prova semplificando lo script x xp semplicemente in questo modo.

Non è che hai messo per errore il bootloader i /dev/sda1 invece che in dev/sda ?

Non so se all'avvio veniva prima caricato qualcosa dell'ibm, la partizione si chiamava ibm-preload, non vorrei che si sia scombinato qualcosa

Come dire che è un portatile .
Assicurati che la partizione windows esista ancora , o quanto meno esista ancora almeno la partizione di ripristino.

in /media se ci sono le trovi .
con linux messo in (hd0,1) a me puzza che win lo hai fatto fuori.

il programma dell'ibm attivabile con il pulsante blu che permetteva il ripristino non funziona
