alg.exe sapete dirmi che fare?

Aprendo il mio Task Manager compare sempre la voce alg.exe. Sono andata sul sito tasklist.org (ormai è diventato la mia homepage) e relativamente alla voce "alg.exe" compaiono tre definizioni:

Filename: alg.exe Virus Name: TR/Dldr.CWS.S.48
Type: Trojan
Risk: Medium
Description: Is a Trojan for the Windows platform, has the functionality to silently download, install and run new software.

No so se il terzo caso è il mio. In realtà il nome del file è iexplorer (però compare anche alg.exe).

Ciò nonostante in tutti e tre i casi alg.exe risulta essere un trojan e un worm, quindi deduco sia meglio non averlo.
EasySpyRemover, però, non me lo trova mai come elemento dannoso.

Mi chiedo:
1- perchè è sempre presente nel mio task manager?
2- a che applicazione si riferisce?
3- lo devo eliminare?
4- come faccio a eliminarlo?

Microsoft’s description : “Provides support for 3rd Party protocol plug-ins for ICS and ICF”.

Recommendation :
If you use the Windows XP/2003 Firewall, you must have ALG running. If you use a 3rd Party firewall, or if you have disabled your Windows XP/2003 firewall because you are on an already firewalled internal corporate network, for example, then set the Startup Mode of this service to Manual on the Services tab of The Ultimate Troubleshooter.

se usi ICF (il firewall integrato di XP) è normale che sia in esecuzione questo processo ; se invece avessi installato un altro firewall sarebbe necessario disabilitare ICF.

Chiara1982 esistono malware che si mascherano assumendo il nome di processi di sistema legittimi. Questo è quanto indicato dal sito che hai visitato, ma ciò non significa che il tuo sia necessariamente dannoso. ALG è normalmente un processo di sistema che si occupa di gestire il firewall di windows e la condivisione della connessione (ICS).
La prima cosa da osservare è dove si trova nel file system il programma in questione. Se si trova in c:\windows\system32\ puoi stare ragionevolmente tranquilla (alg deve stare lì). Se hai dei dubbi puoi sempre inviare il file ad un servizio di scansione online come virustotal dove verrà automaticamente analizzato da decine di antivirus.
