[mplayer] estensione XVideo

salve a tutti

problemino con mplayer che non riesco a far funzionare con il supporto per XV (xvideo), parte la riproduzione audio ma non quella video e viene mostrato il seguente errore

VIDEO:  [DX50]  640x480  24bpp  25.000 fps  1103.1 kbps (134.7 kbyte/s)
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

la cosa strana è che il sistema ha pieno supporto a questa estensione e difatti il risultato di xvinfo lo conferma

anche controllando il log di xorg xv viene caricato correttamente

$ cat Xorg.0.log | grep XV

in pratica debbo usare una delle due estensioni gl o gl2 che funzionano correttamente tuttavia di tanto in tanto fanno spuntare questo warning

- Slow CPU
- Don't try to play a big DVD/DivX on a slow CPU! Try some of the lavdopts,
e.g. -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all.
- Broken file
- Try various combinations of -nobps -ni -forceidx -mc 0.
- Slow media (NFS/SMB mounts, DVD, VCD etc)
- Try -cache 8192.
- Are you using -cache to play a non-interleaved AVI file?
- Try -nocache.

facendo qualche test e qualche ricerca sono arrivato alla conclusione che ci sia (per strano che può sembrare) la presenza di rhythmbox alla base del problema.

quando esso è in esecuzione avviando mplayer si ottiene il seguente warning

Xv: could not grab port 73
Could not find free Xvideo port - maybe another process is already using it.
Close all video applications, and try again. If that does not help,
see 'mplayer -vo help' for other (non-xv) video out drivers.
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

partendo da questo errore sono arrivato ad un bug riportato qui e sembra che il problema sia generato da il plugin XVideo che è stato inserito nelle ultime release

In the latest release the Visualisation plugin was added, this was causing the problem. Disabling the plugin solves the problem.

disattivare il plugin è molto semplice basta togliere la spunta (di default) su rhythmbox

modifica ---> Plugin ---> Effetto Visivo
