Salve a tutti,
ho appena iniziato a programmare in java per scopi didattici, su richiesta del prof devo usare drjava quindi vado nel sito drjava.org mi scarico il programma inizio a mettere in pratica quello che ho imparato ma mi da un problema: no compiler is available. nessun compilatore disponibile?
qualcuno mi può dare una mano? grazie

penso che ti manchi il JDK, scaricabile dal sito della SUN

Innanzitutto se hai installato il JDK, dovresti come minimo aggiungere nella variabile di ambiente PATH la directory 'bin' (il path completo, nota) del JDK.

Poi se hai scaricato la versione jar di DrJava (è il file drjava-stable-XXXXX.jar), basta che lanci il jar direttamente con:

java -jar drjava-stable-XXXXX.jar

Why can't DrJava compile any files?

If you encounter a "No Compiler Available" message, DrJava was not able to find a compatible copy of the "tools.jar" file, which comes with the Java SDK and contains the Java compiler. Note that versions of Java prior to 1.4 are not supported in the latest DrJava releases. You can specify the location of "tools.jar" by choosing "Preferences" from the Edit menu, choosing the "Resource Locations" section, and entering the location into the "Tools.jar Location" field. (The "..." button next to the field allows you to use a file dialog to locate the file.)

If you get an "UnsupportedClassVersionError" when you try to compile, there is an inconsistency between Java version used to run DrJava and the Java version of the compiler. For example, you may be running DrJava under Java 5.0 and attempting to use the Java 1.4 compiler. These two versions need to be consistent. You can point DrJava to the correct version of the compiler by using (or clearing) the "Tools.jar Location" preference setting.
