modem hylafax

Salve, non riesco ad aggiungere un modem seriale con il comando faxaddmodem. I passaggi che ho fatto sono questi:
1) faxaddmodem

non vedo qualcosa tipo [Modem ttyS0 is Runnung]

cosa devo ancora verificare?

controlla che gateway prende perche cosi potrebbe prendere la scheda di rete presente come destinazione

route -n

dice i gatway presenti

route del default gw 192.168.1.0 rimuove ad esempio il gateway 192.168.1.0 se presente
