Ciao,

sulla mia Mandriva 2009.1 non so come far funzionare il wi-fi.

Apro "Menu" ----> "Internet" ----> "Centro della rete", mi compaiono le periferiche presenti ("Cablata Ethernet", "Senza fili (Wi-Fi)" e quando presente quella relativa alla chiavetta 3g (perfettamente funzionante).

Se invece clicco sulla xcritta Wi-FI (Atheros ... AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter) mi compare una finestra "Seleziona la tua rete" che perà è sempre vuota anche dove è sicuramente presente il segnale tanto che due miei amici con un win7 ed un mac sono riusciti a navigare senza fare nulla ... mannaggia ...

In sostanza non mi rileva il segnale anche se è presente e forte.

Devo installare qualche soft aggiuntivo ?

E' la prima volta che mi cimento con il Wi-FI, non so da che parte iniziare.

tipicamente le atheros usano moduli ath5k o ath9k

Ho caricato con modprobe i due moduli ath_pci e ath_pci, ath5k ma non è cambiato nulla, ma non so se la prova sia significativa perchè penso chew qui non ci sia un wireless disponibile.

ma credo che dove sono ora non ci sia segnale disponibile. Vedrò di trovare un luogo doive ci sia un segnale disponibile.

Ma ti sembra che serva qualcosa d'altro per farlo funzionare ?

Se serve ho un amico che ha un router con l'antennina wireless, caso mai appena è libero vado da lui per provare.
