Mesi in lingua italiana

Buondì gente.
Necessitando di un calendario eventi, ho trovato questo script che parrebbe fare al caso mio.
Sono riuscito a personalizzarlo in tutto, tranne che nella lingua dei mesi che resta in inglese.

Ho provato ad usare

setlocale(LC_ALL, 'ita'); 

setlocale(LC_TIME, 'ita'); 

ma senza successo.

Sapreste suggerirmi qualche altra strada?
