Probabilmente hai usato il PPPoE di Windows XP.
Ti consiglio RASPPPoE http://www.raspppoe.com/
Dopo potrai settare:
MTU=1492 (dovrebbe farlo da solo)
RWIN=63888

che vantaggi comporta il rasppoe? è incompatibile o richiede qualche settaggio particolare x applicazioni di rete, e p2p?

100% compatibile.
Puoi portare MTU a 1492 invece di 1480.
è riconosciuto come la migliore soluzione per collegamenti in PPPoE.

Dovresti avere un leggero miglioramento di download e ping.

Se proprio non ti piacerà puoi sempre tornare al PPPoE di XP.


Puoi fare delle prove comparative.
Con i parametri attuali setta RWIN=63360
Fai delle prove di download da microsoft (file de 10-15 mega e cronometra il tempo) e ping su 192.168.100.1.

Dopo installi RASPPPoE e rifai le stesse prove (però con MTU=1492 ed RWIN=63888)
