Excess burst (Be) - The maximum number of uncommitted bits that the Frame Relay switch attempts to transfer beyond the CIR. Excess burst is dependent on the service offerings made available by the vendor. Typically, excess burst is limited to the port speed of the local access loop.

- Il CIR e` la quantita` di dati che il provider si impegna a servire in una certa unita` di tempo molto ampia
- il Bc e` la quantita` di dati che il provider si impegna a servire al massimo in un'unita` di tempo molto breve ("picco" di banda)
- il Be e` la soglia che puo` raggiungere il Bc (di quanto puoi sforare dal picco?)
