1. The Cobind Desktop fits onto a single CD-ROM, but it is still quite large, approximately 600 MB. We strongly recommend that you complete the download using at least a cable modem, DSL line, or faster connection (T1, T3, etc.). Even with a fast connection, the download is likely to take several hours, probably longer. If you do not have a high speed internet connection, we will have disks available via mail at a minimal cost.
2. If you intend to run Cobind Desktop alongside Microsoft Windows or another operating system, you need to prepare your system for installation by making enough disk space availabe for the Cobind Desktop - approximately 1.5 GB. See Redhat's documentation for configuring a dual boot system.
3. The download location is limited in terms of the number of concurrent users and bandwidth available. Download the following file: desktop-0.1-disc1.iso
4. To verify the integrity of the download, you can check the MD5SUM interactively in the Cobind Desktop installer after the CD-ROM boots. Just follow the instructions on the screen.
5. If you need help burning an ISO file, see this CD burning howto.
6. Once you have finished burning the ISO file image to the CD-ROM, insert the newly created CD-ROM into the CD drive of the machine on which you intend to install Cobind Desktop, then reboot the machine. You will be greeted by the Cobind Desktop installation program. Follow the instructions onscreen, and if all goes well, you'll have a working Cobind Desktop system in about half an hour.
