/usr/share vs /usr/local vs /opt vs /home

Mi potreste spiegare dove si installano di solito i programmi?
In /usr/share, /usr/local, /opt, nella $HOME...

Un po' di chiarezza su queste dir mi farebbe comodo

Normalmente io installo in /opt, poi ognumo ha le sue abitudini.

/usr/share
This directory contains subdirectories with specific application data, that can be shared among different architectures of the same OS. Often one finds stuff here that used to live in /usr/doc or /usr/lib or /usr/man.

Mi sembra che i pacchetti si auto-installino tutti in /usr/share, mentre mi sarebbe sembrato piu' logico in /opt
