Not sure what it's looking for.. it seems every X11 Terminal app out there
wants something different. Your best friend in this will be strace.
strace -o ~/aterm-log aterm
Then, you should be able to see exactly what device aterm is trying to
read/open/stat/etc, create it, live happily.
