    [debian] sto cercando di ridurne il peso

    ho un hd striminzito, quindi devo ridurre all'osso debian, mantenendo tuttavia alcuni applicativi quali icewm, xchat, mozilla e vnc

    quali dei seguenti pacchetti posso rimuovere?

    ora devo reinstallare da capo
    Ma scusa, hai usato direttamente dpkg?!? Io uso sempre apt-get remove, almeno mi segnala le possibili rotture di dipendenze, e mi posso fermare in tempo... Presumevo lo stessi facendo anche tu...

    Se devi reinstallare fai un'instalallazione minima - secondo quanto riportato dalla documentazione qui debian si installa anche su 110 MB

    sì, infatti, se avessi usato apt-get non avresti avuto problemi!

    cmq non potresti semplicemente reinstallare gcc senza usare apt-get e poi risistemare il tutto?

    cmq se devi reinstallare, è un'ottima idea quella suggerita da maiosyet. parti dal net-installer e metti solo quello che ti serve iniziando da:

    # apt-get install x-window-system <-- il pacchetto completo per X

    e poi vai con

    # apt-get install icewm xchat mozilla vnc

    e tutto quello che ti può servire.

    ma quanto è striminzito l'hd? io riesco a far stare tutto quello che mi serve per internet, ufficio, costruzione siti web (gimp, quanta o bluefish, apache, mysql, php) in meno di tre Gb. naturalmente però ho una partizione per i dati.
    Passa a Windows, Linux, Mac, BSD, Atari, Amiga, Unix o alle schede perforate. Fa come ti pare.

    e poi potresti mettere firefox invece di mozilla e già lì risparmi qualcosa (poca roba cmq).

    cmq non potresti semplicemente reinstallare gcc senza usare apt-get e poi risistemare il tutto?

    cmq se devi reinstallare, è un'ottima idea quella suggerita da maiosyet. parti dal net-installer e metti solo quello che ti serve iniziando da:

    # apt-get install x-window-system <-- il pacchetto completo per X

    e poi vai con

    # apt-get install icewm xchat mozilla vnc

    e tutto quello che ti può servire.

    ma quanto è striminzito l'hd? io riesco a far stare tutto quello che mi serve per internet, ufficio, costruzione siti web (gimp, quanta o bluefish, apache, mysql, php) in meno di tre Gb. naturalmente però ho una partizione per i dati.
