Si se ne è parlato in abbondanza. Ma oggi, cercando di ottimizzare il mio router, ho settato l'MTU a 1500 e il rapporto dal sito di Speedguide è il seguente:
****************************
TCP options string = 020405b40103030001010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 31944
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 31944
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1277.76 kbps (159.72 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 511.104 kbps (63.888 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 54 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000
**********************************
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 32 bytes ->bytes=32 time=169ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 750 bytes ->bytes=750 time=197ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1125 bytes ->bytes=1125 time=212ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1312 bytes ->bytes=1312 time=221ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1406 bytes ->bytes=1406 time=224ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1453 bytes ->bytes=1453 time=227ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1476 bytes -> ..fragmented
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1465 bytes ->bytes=1465 time=227ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1470 bytes ->bytes=1470 time=227ms TTL=53
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1473 bytes -> ..fragmented
Pinging [209.123.109.175] with 1472 bytes ->bytes=1472 time=226ms TTL=53
The largest possible non-fragmented packet is 1472 (1500 - 28 ICMP & IP headers).
You can set your MTU to 1500
E' ovvio che il merito è del router ma mi conviene lasciare così? (in questo caso correggerei l'MSS a 32120).

Purtroppo sto con l'interleaved
