ciao a tutti,
dopo vari disperati tentativi di far funzionare k3b(tuttora non riesco a compilarlo), ho scoperto installando un altro front-end(xcdroast) che il problema e' forse dell'hw.
mi spiego meglio:
quando avvio, k3b,xcdroast( o quello che e') viene fatta la scansione dei devices. bene a quel punto la cpu va al max e il processo si blocca(kill non ha nessun effetto), il pc rallenta e non mi resta che riavviare.

qualcuna ha idea di come posso risolvere?

premetto che all'avvio di linux faccio l'append di hdc e hdd=ide-scsi e ho caricato il modulo ide-scsi.

il modulo ide-scsi serve solo per i kernel 2.4, nel 2.6 non pi mantenuto e probabilmente non funziona

difficile da capire il problema

controlla se ide-scsi inserito come modulo e prova a caricarlo
modprobe ide-scsi
poi dai un
dmesg | grep hd
e incolla cosa risponde

mettendo un kernel 2.6 in aggiunta avresti meno problemi probabilmente ed il sistema ne gudagnerebbe molto

tra le guide c' anche quella di pierluigi per il kernel 2.6 su slack
con quello non devi fare l'append

probabilmente fa un po di pasticci con apic che assegna irq errati
puoi provare ad aggiungere noapic nolapic tra le opzioni nell'append (tra le virgolette dopo ide-scsi)

altrimenti la cosa migliore sarebbe compilare il kernel 2.6 magari l'ultimo stabile
se mi incolli un lspci + il tipo di processore posso provare a farti un .config da fargli caricare poi con la guida in alto non difficilissimo

potrebbe essere anche il settaggio dei ponticelli sui cdrom
a volte se settati su CS (cable select ) possono crare problemi e si dovrebbero mettere master e slave
ma se in genere e vanno raro che sia quello

no, sono settati uno a master(cdrom) e l'altro a slave(cdrw)
