Validazione W3C e tag FORM

Ho questo problema.
Una pagina contiene al suo interno due form, con finalità diverse, ma sul secondo form che incontra, il validatore mi genera un errore di questo tipo :

Che DTD usi? Xhtml 1.0 Strict? Non puoi usare l'attributo name: usa id.

Uso :-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN


Quindi non è più valido l'attributo name?
Sono riamnsto un po' indietro allora .... verifico con l'attributo id al posto del name.
