We have a network when two or more pcs are connect each other.
We have two main network typologies:
Wan stand for wide area network and Lan stand for local area network.
The main components of a lan are workstation called nodes, server and connection hardware (cabling and interface card).
The main topologis of network are bus, ring and star topologies. The topologies of a network is the phisical layout of nodes.
In a bus network nodes are dispose one next to the other in a lineaw way, the bus network it's easy to add more stations and it's inexpensive to install but if main cable fail at any point the network go down.
In a ring network nodes are dispose in a circolar way. There is no dependence on a centrral server but if one nodes brakc down the trasmission is distruped.
In a star network nodes are connected to a central hub. If one cable go down the other stations are not affected, dont have a collision problem but it's more expensive.
