    [debian]connessione 56k

    Ciao sono nuovo del forum, ed ho un problema, io utilizzavo sul mio computer mandriva e windoz e mi connettevo normalmente con il mio modem (della wisecom esterno seriale 56K) su entrambi i sistemi. Ora però mi hanno consigliato di installare debian al posto di mandriva e li il modem non viene riconosciuto adesso non so come procedere se gentilmente mi potete dare una mano ve ne sarei grato.


    p.s. se vi dovesse essere d'aiuto la mia connessione e con telecom quella di 12 € al mese

    se è un modem seriale viene riconosciuro sicuramente

    le periferiche sull a porta com vengono usate tranquillamente

    hai provato ad interrogare le varie porte avviando kppp ?

    altrimenti si connette e si disconnette immediatamente
    forse avrei dovuto anche dire che sono un po inesperto in materia......sono agli inizi......cmq di certo nn si connette e disconnette.

    sembra strano a meno che tu non abbia problemi alle porte seriali

    dai da terminale
    dmesg | grep tty
    e controlla che non esistano conflitti di irq


    prova ad avviare gnome-ppp e controlla da li o scarica wvdial se non lo hai sui cd e prova con quello

    poi ho fatto grep tty nn andava cosi ho provato a vedere come funzionava il comando grep ma ......

    gnome-ppp nn va

    poi facendo kppp all'avvio dice che nn trova un file e che lo debbo creare anche vuoto, come si fa?

    e ancora qual'e la porta seriale del modem cioe qual'e è tra le varie tty1 ,tty2 e compagnia bella???

    scusa se ti ho assaltato dalle domande ma è che nn sono ancora capace.

    in effetti il computer sembra avere problemi con le seriali

    register_serial(): autoconfig failed
    e per quello non si connette

    hai installato debian con il kernel 2.4

    puoi provare ad installare il kernel 2.6
    (lo hai sui cd )

    dai un apt-cache search kernel-image
    e installa il pacchetto del kernel 2.6 disponibile
    apt-get install kernel-image-2.6.8-2-386 (probabilmente )

    il kernel fa tutto da se molto probabilmente al riavvio risolve anche il problema delle seriali


    all'inizio dell' installazione invece di dare invio se vuoi installare direttamente con il kernel 2.6 devi scrivere linux26 poi dare invio
