    Scheda di rete integrata

    Oggi ho installato una scheda di rete chiamata: "NW-1100 PCI Network Adapter 100Mb" della trust, ma il computer non me lo rileva. Ecco il lspci:

    Se serve qualche cos'altro chiedete che lo posto.

    Qualcuno sa dirmi perchè la scheda non viene rilavata? premetto che è montata su un PC vecchio: Intel Celeron II vecchio di 5/6 anni.

    controlla con dmesg se viene vista e se ha problemi
    spesso basta un problema di irq per fare questo

    Intanto cercando in internet ho trovato qualcosa di interessante che quoto:

    "E' un problema conosciuto che si presenta con certi modelli della RealTek. La soluzione migliore e' disabilitare la voce "Plug 'n Play OS" dal BIOS." => Il mio chipset è RealTek.

    "Leggi con cat /proc/pci e cat /proc/interrupts quali sono esattamente gli IRQ che si sovrappongono e cerca di giostrare tra settaggi del bios in modo da avere meno sovrapposizioni possibili. Io ho dovuto rinunciare al controller USB :=((" => Una possibile soluzione?

    Ricompila il kernel,abilita tutti i moduli delle schede,e se supportata all'avvio te la riconosce al volo

    trova qualcosa nello slot4 ma ha problemi a farla funzionare

    ifconfig stranamente vede una scheda
    e non ho capito se questa inserita è la seconda

    prova a avviare con noapic nolapic editando la riga di grub del kernel in menu.lst

    Vi dico subito che ho provato a ricompilare il kernel, ma evidentemente ho fatto un errore ed è partito tutto! Comunque non è un problema perchè quel PC l'ho preso apposta: per smanettare un pò ed imparare.

    Rispondendo alle vostre domande ho (avevo) ubuntu 5 kernel 2.6.10.
    Andy potresti riportare come dovrei impostare la riga? Perchè se ho ben capito "noapic nolapic" va inserito alla fine della riga del kernel di menu.list del grub?
