X non parte

Sapete da cosa può dipendere il fatto che X non parta, dato il seguente errore (sul log di Xorg.xx) con un grep sulle sole linee che hanno dato errore \(EE\):

(EE) RADEON(0): [dri] RADEONDRIGetVersion failed to open the DRM$

?

OS: Debian Unstable. GFX card: ATI.

Sarebbe utile il contenuto di /etc/X11/xorg.conf - il tipo di driver utilizzato, le librerie installate (quelle riguardanti il rendering). Fai anche un cat /var/log/Xorg0.log | grep DRM già che ci sei, ed anche un lsmod (da root) per vedere se hai caricato il driver.
